In-ceiling speakers, designed to squeeze into small spaces or be used in multiples to diffuse background sound, are notoriously difficult to get right. If the driver is too small, there won't be enough bass without adding a bulky subwoofer, but the usual alternative is a two-way setup where the tweeter sits in front of a small bass/midrange driver. The problem with this is that the driver fires around the body of the tweeter, inevitably leading to coloration. The new Bowers & Wilkins CCM2 is a single 632mm (75-inch) full-range driver with beautifully balanced sound, which avoids traditional small speaker challenges while occupying less than 3mm (150-inch) of diameter. The CCM6 also features Bowers & Wilkins' innovative ZipDogs™ mounting method. These make installation a breeze and can accommodate almost any mounting plate thickness. Each speaker comes with an integral enclosure to minimize acoustic bleed into adjacent rooms. Speakers are shipped as a pair, with each pack consisting of round and square magnetically attached and fully adjustable grilles/surrounds.
