The 6000N Play combines the versatility of the wireless DTS Play-Fi audio platform with Audiolab's know-how in a great Wi-Fi streaming solution that is easy to install and use. Users can stream from any source on their wireless network—including smartphones, tablets, and PCs, as well as NAS drives and music servers—thanks to the 6000N Play's dual-band/Wi-Fi dual antenna. The system also connects wirelessly to other devices with Play-Fi onboard, enabling a fully synchronized multi-room setup.
The 6000N Play offers access to streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, HDtracks, Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Napster, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and SiriusXM, to name just a few . Users can also choose to browse a guide with thousands of radio stations and podcasts, or to stream from a home media server with DLNA compatibility. The 6000N Play is capable of hi-res audio and can receive data up to a resolution of 24 bit/192 kHz via Wi-Fi – well above CD quality – without transcoding or downsampling.
The 6000N Play is equipped with a high-quality DAC (digital-to-analog converter) that utilizes the same ES9018 Sabre32 Reference chip found in the Audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier. The 32-bit HyperStream architecture from ESS Technology and the Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, coupled with Audiolab's own circuits, guarantee ultra-low noise and a high dynamic range. Furthermore, the circuit design is inspired by Audiolab's 6000CDT CD player, featuring the same isolated power supply with a highly efficient toroidal transformer for optimal signal purity.
The DAC stage allows the 6000N Play to be used with any audio system. The analog RCA outputs easily connect to a standard amplifier or a pair of powered speakers. Alternatively, a digital feed (optical or coaxial) can be connected directly to an external DAC or an amplifier with digital inputs, such as Audiolab's 6000A. It goes without saying that the 6000A is an ideal partner for the 6000N Play. When these two components are digitally connected, an optical or coaxial cable transfers the audio signal, while an included USB control cable allows you to control the 6000A's volume via the Play-Fi app.

The 6000N Play is configured and controlled via the Play-Fi app, available for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire phones and tablets, Apple and Android smartwatches, and Windows PCs. It can also stream Spotify directly via Spotify Connect and is DLNA and UPnP compatible. There are few controls on the device itself, only the standby button and a set of six "preset" buttons.
