Solid tweeter of the Bowers & Wilkins 702 S2
The solid tweeter housing is milled from a single block of aluminium, forming an acoustically optimised construction that is exceptionally inert and insensitive to resonances.
Carbon Dome™ tweeter
Carbon Dome™ tweeters are a brand new technology developed specifically for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.
Continuum™ cone from the Bowers & Wilkins 702 S2 – Black – Floorstanding Speakers
The Continuum™ cone introduced with the 800 Series Diamond represents the biggest step change in midrange performance since Kevlar®. The coated, woven material delivers highly controlled breakup, resulting in a more open, neutral midrange.
Decoupled midrange drivers
The midrange drivers in the floorstanding speakers are decoupled. This is derived from a similar system in the 800 Series Diamond. Decoupling reduces cabinet coloration and further enhances midrange clarity.
Cone with Aerofoil™ profile for low
Developed using advanced computer modeling techniques, this Aerofoil™ profile bass cone features variable thickness, providing stiffness and rigidity where needed most. This results in deep and dynamic bass.
