The Chora 816 is a 2,5-way bass-reflex floorstanding loudspeaker. The woofer and midrange/bass driver, both equipped with the Slatefiber cone, work in perfect harmony to deliver lush sound reproduction and excellent bass impact. The sound finds its full dimension in your listening room, with a dynamic midrange and remarkable power handling. A front port is positioned underneath the loudspeaker to reduce distortion, and the tilt of the speaker stand ensures Time Alignment creates a soundstage focused on the listener.
The Chora 816 is particularly suitable for home cinemas and fits seamlessly into rooms up to 30 m².
The TNF Aluminum/Magnesium tweeter – Soft and precise high tones
The surround connecting the dome to the stand uses a memory foam material called Poron. This surround is derived directly from Utopia's renowned Beryllium tweeter and reduces distortion by a third between 2.000 Hz and 3.000 Hz, the ear's highly sensitive range. The spaciousness and very low directionality of the inverted dome ensure that silky-smooth highs can be heard from anywhere in your listening room.
The Slatefiber cone – Perfectly balanced sound with the Focal Chora 816 – Light Wood – Floorstanding Speaker
Slatefiber technology, exclusive to Focal, involves the use of recycled, non-woven carbon fibers sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In their quest for perfection, Focal engineers opted to use non-woven carbon fibers, all oriented in the same direction, to achieve even greater stiffness and improved damping.
Manufactured in Focal's workshops using state-of-the-art industrial tools, the cone's "slate" effect provides improved damping and stiffness, as well as lightness – the three essentials of a good speaker driver.

The Chora range features a modern design, all elevated on a tilted stand for Time Alignment, which creates an optimal soundstage, more focused on the listener. The slate color of the Slatefiber cone adds a refined, authentic touch.
