LX-3 MKII

LX-3 MKII is a 2-way floorstanding loudspeaker with a 6,5″ bass driver and a 1″ soft dome treble unit.

The LX MKII series is the latest in a long line of distinctive Mission loudspeakers, joining the multi-award-winning mid-level QX Series and flagship ZX Series. LX MKII maintains Mission’s trademark ‘Inverted Driver Geometry’ design, meaning the path length between the drivers has been optimized. Unique at this price point, this arrangement allows the precision-tuned crossover to deliver enhanced transient attack and astonishing detail.

Perfected over hundreds of hours of critical listening by Peter Comeau, Mission's lead acoustic designer, the Mission LX MKII utilizes trickle-down innovations from the revered ZX series. Enhancements to the renowned Mission DiaDrive bass driver provide superior control of the low-frequency diaphragm, while refined high-frequency performance and a redesigned cabinet bracing system further help create a loudspeaker system that punches above its price point.

Advanced new driver surrounds and crossover

One of the critical points that emerged during the development of the Mission ZX and QX models was the use of serrations in the driver surrounds to disperse interfering reflections from localised surfaces back into the dome and cone.

LX MKII now integrates these gears into the driver surrounds, giving the drive unit outputs even more finesse and providing a smoother frequency response

With minor disruptions to driver response smoothed out, the crossover has been optimized for each model to benefit from the improved performance

The result is that the LX MKII builds on the winning formula of the LX, both the clarity of the
midrange and treble enhancements and enhances the micro-dynamics of the musical performance, for an even more exciting listening experience

Inverted Geometry Drive design

Mission's classic IDG (Inverted Driver Geometry) driver format positions the high-frequency driver below the bass/midrange driver, meaning the path length is equalized, so the sound waves converge at the listener's head height. A proprietary principle that improves time alignment and thus transient performance in Mission speakers.
