NEW RING DOME TREBLE UNIT
Mission's Ring Dome treble unit overcomes the problems inherent in conventional domes. This technology fixes the center of the dome, and the voice coil is partially mounted over the dome. The dome is formed into two rings, with the voice coil in the center, allowing it to drive the dome more precisely and efficiently.
The result is less distortion and superior performance at frequencies up to 30 kHz and beyond. Transient performance is dramatically improved, as is musical detail, particularly of the overtones and harmonics of instruments.
NEW DIADRIVE BASS/MIDRANGE UNIT of the Mission ZX-4 – White – Floor Standing Speaker
Mission's DiaDrive bass unit features an advanced aluminum matrix cone and is now vented to remove trapped air behind the diaphragm, reducing resonance and enabling clearer midrange performance beyond 3 kHz
In the ZX, the driver surround is covered by a vented cover that controls the spurious output from the diaphragm edge, again improving mid-range clarity
Matching serrations are incorporated into the bulge of the slot port. High-pressure airflow is streamlined from the port exit, while the asymmetrical design eliminates the "puffing" distortion typically heard with round ports.
NEW CABINET/DRIVER MOUNTING SYSTEM
Mission ZX bass/midrange units now feature oversized magnet systems as standard to deliver the punch and transient attack characteristic of modern recordings
To enhance the mechanical integrity of these magnet systems, special bracing methods were developed to ensure the bass diaphragms respond accurately to the musical waveform. Bass output is now thrillingly dynamic with superior detail and extension.
FINELY TUNE CROSSOVER PERFORMANCE with the Mission ZX-4 – White – Floorstanding Speaker
Mission's Inverted Driver Geometry (IDG) of bass/midrange and treble units has been employed to equalize the acoustic path lengths. IAG's Head of Acoustic Design, Peter Comeau, worked tirelessly to achieve seamless integration between the drive units, so the speaker behaves as a single, music-making system.
