If you want scale in your sound, but not in the size of your speaker cabinet, the new 3020c standmount is the perfect choice. It's ready to let you experience all the power and dynamics of your favorite music, but without dominating your living space.
Key features of the Q Acoustics 3020c
- The new, all-new C3 (pronounced “C-cubed”) Continuous Curved Cone™ mid/bass profile delivers superior bass dynamics and smoother integration with the high-frequency driver.
- Based on design principles from the latest Concept Series, the hermetically sealed high-frequency driver is mechanically isolated from the baffle, preventing modulation of the mid/bass driver.
- Low-coloration cabinets with P2PTM (Point to PointTM) bracing minimize low reverberation, thus improving stereo imaging and soundstage.
- Features a sleek and contemporary aesthetic with refined satin metal driver finishes.
- Available in four new finishes: Pin Oak, Claro Walnut, Satin White and Satin Black.
Introducing Generation C
The affordable and powerful 3000c loudspeaker series builds on the impressive legacy of the 3000i – Q Acoustics' most popular and award-winning loudspeaker series. This latest series continues the company's unwavering reputation by delivering sonic performance and high-quality design and construction that are far above their class.
The 3000c family
The 3000c family is the perfect entry into the modern audiophile world or as a cost-effective speaker upgrade. The family includes the 3010c bookshelf speaker, the 3020c floor-standing speaker, the 3030c larger floor-standing speaker, the 3050c floor-standing speaker, and the 3090c center channel, which completes the lineup for a home theater speaker setup. Whether in a stereo or 5.1 setup, the 3000c series has the talent to bring your music or movies to life.
Real innovation
This new loudspeaker series features the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™ mid/bass driver, first introduced in the award-winning 5000 Series and M40 active micro tower speakers. Q Acoustics' latest engineering platform elevates the 3000c beyond its rivals, delivering a sound characterised by an articulate and responsive mid-range, controlled yet powerful bass dynamics, and nuanced and detailed high frequencies, alongside an exceptional soundstage never before experienced at this level.
Finishes to suit any interior, the Q Acoustics 3020c
Available in four new, modern, and premium finishes, the 3000c series is sure to complement any interior. The introduction of a new, lighter (Pin Oak) and darker (Claro Rosewood) wood finish, alongside the new yet classic Satin White and Satin Black finishes first seen in the 5000 series, reflects the contemporary design of this new speaker family.
C3 Continuous Curved Cone™
A true advancement in mid-bass driver design. The C3 Continuous Curved Cone™ profile is the result of extensive research and expert engineering, combining the bass performance of a traditional straight cone with the high-midrange control of a flared cone.
By creating a single, smooth, continuous curve profile, the benefits are numerous. Firstly, the excellent dispersion, combined with the well-controlled frequency response, ensures smoother integration with the tweeter. Deep bass dynamics are also superior, and this, combined with the tighter, damped bass, allows for greater flexibility in placing speakers close to the walls of the listening room.
Mid-bass driver design
The groundbreaking C3 cone is at the heart of the 3000c mid-bass design. The cone geometry requires exceptional motor strength for optimal performance, so large magnets are coupled to the voice coils. The control provided by the large magnets ensures good dynamic response, headroom, and tight bass. Besides these benefits, the large magnets also allow the pole plate and yoke to reach near saturation, which reduces flux modulation and harmonic distortion.
Design of the high-frequency driver of the Q Acoustics 3020c
Based on the tweeter design principle of the latest Concept Series, the high-frequency driver unit is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the baffle to prevent internal pressure modulation from the cabinet and the adjacent mid/bass driver. The inner chamber is also carefully vented for reduced distortion, with a lower crossover point for seamless integration throughout the crossover area.
P2P™ (Point to Point) reinforcement
Q Acoustics' P2P™ (Point to Point™) bracing, used throughout the 3000c series, supports the cabinet components requiring bracing, making the new cabinets exceptionally rigid. This improves the focus of the stereo image and gives the soundstage greater accuracy than ever before.
HPE™ (Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer)
The 3050c, like all floorstanding loudspeakers, is susceptible to internal pressure buildup that creates unwanted standing waves and coloration. To prevent this, specially designed HPE™ (Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer™) tubes are placed inside the cabinet to neutralize the internal pressure and improve frequency response.
