Key Features of the Q Acoustics Q5010 – Santos Rosewood – Bookshelf Speaker
The C3 Continuous Curved ConeTM design in the mid/bass driver delivers smoother integration of the high frequencies with the tweeter and superior bass dynamics.
The refined, sleek and contemporary design with dark acrylic shotgun motif reflects the minimalist C3 Continuous Curved ConeTM profile.
Available in four stylish finishes: Satin Black, Satin White, Santos Rosewood and Holme Oak.
Featuring a Concept Series design but in a new enclosure, the high-frequency driver is fully hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the front baffle to protect against internal cabinet pressures and resonances from the mid/bass driver.
The improved mid/bass driver design ensures better power handling.
Point-2-PointTM (P2P) internal bracing stiffens the cabinet to minimize lower frequency vibrations while focusing the stereo image and improving the soundstage
Ahead of the curve
Q Acoustics' new 5000 Series is a range of stereo and home cinema speakers that will recalibrate your perception of how a speaker can look and sound. Embodying a genuine and significant advance in driver design, the groundbreaking C3 Continuous Curved Cone™ mid/bass driver elevates the 5000 Series beyond any nominal rival. Incorporating innovative cabinet technology first pioneered in the company's flagship Concept range, the 5000 Series is as uncompromising on the inside as it is refined and contemporary on the outside.
Refined and contemporary in design, the Q Acoustics Q5010 – Santos Rosewood – Bookshelf Speaker
The reductive nature of the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™’s appearance is also reflected in the minimalist design of the 5000 Series, with its refined yet contemporary lines reminiscent of the elegant form of the latest Concept Series loudspeaker. The baffle panels are laminated with a layer of butyl rubber and a black acrylic finish, not only to provide a dampening layer to suppress vibrations occurring within the baffle, but to also provide a striking counterpoint to the cosmetically clean front presentation, uninterrupted by any mountings.
Mid/bass driver design
At the heart of the all-new midrange/bass driver design is the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™. The cone's geometry requires significant motor force for optimal performance. Large magnets are coupled with large voice coils to increase motor strength – the result is a 50% increase in power handling and control compared to a comparable driver with a 25,4 mm voice coil. The result is an improvement in the speaker's dynamic range, especially in the bass region.
High-frequency driver design
Based on the design principle of the tweeter from the latest Concept Series, the high-frequency driver unit is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the baffle to prevent internal pressure modulation from the cabinet and the adjacent mid/bass driver. The inner chamber is also carefully vented for reduced distortion, with a lower crossover point for seamless integration throughout the crossover area.
C 3 Continuously curved cone™
A true advancement in elements of mid/bass driver design, the C 3 Continuous Curved Cone™ profile is the result of extensive research and expert engineering to combine the bass performance benefits of a traditional straight cone with the high/mid frequency control of a flared cone.
By creating a single, smooth, continuous curve profile, the benefits are clear. The excellent dispersion, along with the well-controlled frequency response and reduced harmonic distortion, ensures smoother integration with the tweeter. Deep bass dynamics are also superior, with this tighter, more hushed low-end sound allowing greater flexibility in placing speakers closer to the walls of the listening room.
