Each speaker unit in the NS-2000A utilizes the newly developed Harmonious Diaphragm™ – crafted from a blend of ZYLON®, which offers excellent sound velocity and minimal internal dissipation, and spruce, the same wood used in Yamaha grand piano keyboards and essential for sound transmission. This achieves accurate, faithful tonal expression across the entire audio spectrum, bringing out the harmonics of the sound and making music sound richer and more beautiful.

Total music reproduction

Yamaha's patented RS (Resonance Suppression) chambers are mounted behind the tweeter and midrange drivers to faithfully reproduce even the finest nuances of musical instruments and vocals. Two specially shaped tubes cancel out unwanted tube resonance generated behind the diaphragm, bringing the natural sound to life and preserving the subtle musical nuances of the original source. Furthermore, significantly less conventional sound-absorbing materials are required.

Faithful musical reproduction

Conventional speakers use a large amount of sound-absorbing material to eliminate internal standing waves. Unfortunately, this also destroys much of the original clarity of the music. In the NS-2000A, we've employed our patented acoustic absorption element to eliminate these standing waves and minimize the amount of sound-absorbing material. This allows the original character of music, which tends to be lost due to sound absorption, to be reproduced with full energy and dynamism.

The NS-2000A's cabinet construction incorporates advanced speaker design technology, making extensive use of laser vibrometry, used in musical instrument research and development, and advanced Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis. The cabinet crosspiece is optimally braced for solid low-frequency response and a firm, comfortable musical foundation. This allows the soundstage to express itself without loss.

The NS-2000A is the head of our flagship series and features the highest-quality components for the crossover circuit. It combines Mundorf's MCap® SUPREME Classic audio capacitor with an oversized woofer coil. German Mundorf is known as the pinnacle of audio capacitors.
