To vividly reproduce everything from various high-resolution sources—from the most delicate nuances of playing to the most energetically dynamic musical passages—Yamaha has incorporated a digital power amplifier into this amplifier that delivers a maximum of 70 watts/channel and boasts powerful driving characteristics. Natural digital PWM modulation with an extremely simple circuit configuration ensures both natural, uncolored sound quality and high efficiency. The low-pass filter of the final section of the power amplifier, which significantly affects the sound quality, is a large inductor made of low-loss, low-distortion OFC (oxygen-free copper) wire material. This simultaneously maintains the purity of high-resolution sound sources while enhancing bass power and adding warmth to the mid- and high-frequency sounds—all to deliver the highest quality sound reproduction, rich in musicality. The unit also features a Pure Direct Switch, which bypasses the tone/balance controls and the rear buffer amplifier to enhance the purity of the sound.

Naturally, the drying periods between coats are also strictly controlled, and repeated grinding and polishing are meticulously performed before and after each coating step. And more than half of the process is completed by hand, using the skills of experienced workers. The rich, lustrous appearance with such profound depth is the crystallization of craftsmanship nurtured by the art of piano making.

The 13cm (5-1/4") woofer's diaphragm is made of high-quality aluminum that is over 99% pure. Its light weight and high rigidity ensure superior response for rich and precise reproduction of the texture, ambience, and timbre of each musical instrument. Another key feature is its ability to delineate details within the natural soundstage, even with depth, such as the positional relationship of each musical instrument in a jazz piano trio. The 3cm (1-1/4") soft dome tweeter, created by coating the diaphragm and applying unique molding technology, delivers both exceptionally high reproduction capacity and rich sound from high-resolution sound sources.

It features a highly rigid cabinet with a full triple-miter joint construction that connects all angled parts crucial to the cabinet's strength using the wedge principle. Yamaha's traditional expertise, nurtured by its long history of musical instrument manufacturing, expertly controls the reverberation of sound essential to music, while achieving high rigidity that prevents unwanted resonances. And after careful polishing, performed to conceal the joints between surfaces, the instrument is given a beautiful piano finish.
